Description

A classic and comforting green bean casserole, perfect for any occasion. This recipe uses simple ingredients for a delicious outcome.


Ingredients

  • 2 (10.5 ounce) cans condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3 cups (1 ounce) French fried onions, divided
  • 2 (14.5 ounce) cans green beans, drained


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the condensed soup, milk, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Stir in 1.5 cups of the French fried onions.
  3. Add the drained green beans and mix well.
  4. Pour the mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  5. Bake for 25 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven and top with the remaining 1.5 cups of French fried onions.
  7. Return to oven and bake for another 5 minutes, or until the onions are golden brown.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, you can use cream of chicken soup instead of cream of mushroom soup.
  • Fresh green beans can be used. Blanch them for 5 minutes before adding to the casserole.
