- 2 (10.5 ounce) cans condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 3 cups (1 ounce) French fried onions, divided
- 2 (14.5 ounce) cans green beans, drained
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- In a large bowl, combine the condensed soup, milk, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Stir in 1.5 cups of the French fried onions.
- Add the drained green beans and mix well.
- Pour the mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove from oven and top with the remaining 1.5 cups of French fried onions.
- Return to oven and bake for another 5 minutes, or until the onions are golden brown.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, you can use cream of chicken soup instead of cream of mushroom soup.
- Fresh green beans can be used. Blanch them for 5 minutes before adding to the casserole.
- Add a pinch of nutmeg for an extra layer of flavor.
