- 1 cup pecan halves
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup bourbon
- 4 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Place the pecan halves in the unbaked pie crust.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, granulated sugar, brown sugar, salt, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Stir in the melted butter and bourbon.
- Pour the filling over the pecans in the pie crust.
- Sprinkle the chopped bittersweet chocolate evenly over the filling.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the center is set and the crust is golden brown.
- Let the pie cool completely on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For a smoother filling, you can use mini chocolate chips instead of chopped chocolate.
- If you prefer a stronger bourbon flavor, you can increase the amount of bourbon to 1/3 cup.
- Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
