Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a loaf pan.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together sugar and butter.
  4. Beat in eggs, then milk, lemon juice, and zest.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in poppy seeds.
  7. Pour batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 50-60 minutes.
  8. Let the loaf cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  9. Whisk together powdered sugar and lemon juice for the glaze. Drizzle over the cooled loaf.
