Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix milk, melted butter, and vanilla.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9-inch baking dish.
- Arrange the pitted cherries over the batter.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- You can use frozen cherries; thaw them first and drain any excess liquid.
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
- Adjust the sugar to your preference, depending on the sweetness of your cherries.
