Description

Quick and easy honey garlic meatballs served over fluffy rice. This recipe is perfect for a weeknight family dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 2 cups cooked white rice
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, chopped onion, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  3. Form the mixture into about 1-inch meatballs.
  4. Place meatballs on a baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until browned and cooked through.
  5. While meatballs are baking, prepare the sauce. In a small saucepan, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
  6. Bring the sauce to a simmer over medium heat. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
  7. Add the baked meatballs to the saucepan with the sauce. Toss to coat evenly.
  8. Serve the honey garlic meatballs over cooked white rice.
  9. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.

Notes

  • For a chewier texture, you can pan-fry the meatballs instead of baking them.
  • Adjust the honey and soy sauce ratio to your preference for sweetness and saltiness.
  • Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce for a spicy kick.
