Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 2 cups cooked white rice
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, chopped onion, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
- Form the mixture into about 1-inch meatballs.
- Place meatballs on a baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until browned and cooked through.
- While meatballs are baking, prepare the sauce. In a small saucepan, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
- Bring the sauce to a simmer over medium heat. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
- Add the baked meatballs to the saucepan with the sauce. Toss to coat evenly.
- Serve the honey garlic meatballs over cooked white rice.
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
Notes
- For a chewier texture, you can pan-fry the meatballs instead of baking them.
- Adjust the honey and soy sauce ratio to your preference for sweetness and saltiness.
- Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce for a spicy kick.
