Description

Delicious fudgy brownies made with sourdough discard.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup sourdough discard
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together melted butter, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt.
  3. Add vanilla extract and eggs. Whisk until combined.
  4. Stir in sourdough discard.
  5. Gradually add flour, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips, if using.
  7. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  9. Let cool completely before cutting and serving.
