- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup teriyaki sauce
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon minced ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Place chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
- In a bowl, whisk together teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, ginger, and garlic.
- Pour sauce over chicken.
- Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, or until chicken is cooked through.
- Remove chicken from slow cooker and shred with two forks.
- In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water.
- Pour cornstarch slurry into the slow cooker and stir to thicken the sauce.
- Return shredded chicken to the slow cooker and toss to coat.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions, if desired.
- Serve over rice or noodles.
Notes
- You can substitute chicken thighs for chicken breasts.
- For a thicker sauce, add more cornstarch.
- Adjust the amount of brown sugar to your taste.
