Description

Tender, flavorful teriyaki chicken made effortlessly in your slow cooker.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon minced ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Place chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, ginger, and garlic.
  3. Pour sauce over chicken.
  4. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, or until chicken is cooked through.
  5. Remove chicken from slow cooker and shred with two forks.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water.
  7. Pour cornstarch slurry into the slow cooker and stir to thicken the sauce.
  8. Return shredded chicken to the slow cooker and toss to coat.
  9. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions, if desired.
  10. Serve over rice or noodles.

Notes

  • You can substitute chicken thighs for chicken breasts.
  • For a thicker sauce, add more cornstarch.
  • Adjust the amount of brown sugar to your taste.
