Description
A simple and delicious recipe for juicy, flavorful roasted turkey breast perfect for any occasion, especially Thanksgiving.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (3-5 pound) whole boneless turkey breast, skin on
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Pat the turkey breast dry with paper towels.
- In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, salt, pepper, thyme, rosemary, and garlic powder.
- Rub the herb and oil mixture all over the turkey breast, ensuring it’s evenly coated.
- Place the turkey breast in a roasting pan or oven-safe skillet. If using a bag, place it inside the bag according to package instructions.
- Roast for 1 hour and 15 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes, or until a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the breast registers 165°F (74°C).
- Let the turkey breast rest for 10-15 minutes before carving.
Notes
- For extra crispy skin, you can increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C) for the last 15-20 minutes of roasting, watching carefully to prevent burning.
- Basting the turkey breast with its own juices every 30 minutes can help keep it moist.
- You can add vegetables like carrots, onions, and potatoes to the roasting pan during the last hour of cooking.
