Description

A simple and delicious recipe for pecan pie bars, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine flour, softened butter, and granulated sugar. Mix until crumbly.
  3. Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan to form the crust.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together brown sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
  5. Stir in the pecan halves into the brown sugar mixture.
  6. Pour the pecan mixture evenly over the crust.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the center is set and the edges are golden brown.
  8. Let cool completely in the pan before cutting into bars.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, toast the pecans lightly before adding them to the filling.
  • Ensure the bars are completely cooled before slicing for clean cuts.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
