Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 8×8 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together buttermilk, melted butter, and egg.
  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let cool slightly before cutting and serving.
