Description

Oven-baked Pig Shots are a delicious and easy appetizer. They combine savory sausage with a creamy cheese filling, all wrapped in bacon.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound bacon, thinly sliced
  • 1 pound Conecuh sausage, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 tablespoon your favorite BBQ rub


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, cheddar cheese, and green onions.
  3. Wrap each sausage piece with a slice of bacon. Secure with a toothpick.
  4. Fill each bacon-wrapped sausage with a teaspoon of the cheese mixture.
  5. Sprinkle the tops with BBQ rub.
  6. Place the pig shots on a baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the cheese is melted.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving.
