Ingredients

  • Bread (1 loaf, challah or brioche recommended)
  • Eggs (6 large)
  • Milk (2 cups)
  • Heavy cream (1/2 cup)
  • Sugar (1/4 cup)
  • Vanilla extract (1 teaspoon)
  • Cinnamon (1 teaspoon)
  • Salt (1/4 teaspoon)
  • Butter (for greasing)
  • Optional toppings: berries, maple syrup, powdered sugar


Instructions

  1. Grease a baking dish.
  2. Cube the bread.
  3. Whisk together eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Place bread cubes in the baking dish.
  5. Pour egg mixture over the bread.
  6. Cover and refrigerate overnight (or for at least 2 hours).
