- 1 lb Italian sausage
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 (10 oz) package frozen tortellini
- 5 oz kale, chopped
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Brown the Italian sausage in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Drain excess grease.
- Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
- Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream. Bring to a simmer.
- Add the frozen tortellini and chopped kale. Stir to combine.
- Cook according to tortellini package directions, stirring occasionally, until the tortellini is heated through and the kale is wilted.
- Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is creamy.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately.
