Description

A simple and comforting one-pot pasta dish featuring creamy sausage and kale tortellini. It’s quick to make and perfect for a weeknight meal.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Italian sausage
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 (10 oz) package frozen tortellini
  • 5 oz kale, chopped
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Brown the Italian sausage in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Drain excess grease.
  2. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Add the frozen tortellini and chopped kale. Stir to combine.
  6. Cook according to tortellini package directions, stirring occasionally, until the tortellini is heated through and the kale is wilted.
  7. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is creamy.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Serve immediately.
