A delicious oat topping version of a classic apple crisp.
Ingredients

- 6 medium apples, peeled and sliced
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) cold unsalted butter, cut into cubes
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Toss sliced apples with granulated sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
- Add water to the apples.
- Pour the apple mixture into a baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Sprinkle the oat topping evenly over the apples.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
- You can use different types of apples.
