- 1.5 lbs ground turkey
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, milk, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Shape half of the turkey mixture into a loaf pan or on a baking sheet.
- Press the shredded mozzarella cheese into the center of the loaf.
- Top with the remaining turkey mixture, sealing the edges to enclose the cheese.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can add a glaze of ketchup and brown sugar during the last 15 minutes of baking.
- Ensure the cheese is fully enclosed to prevent it from leaking out.
