- 1/4 cup honey

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 8×8 inch baking pan with butter.
- In a large bowl, whisk together cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, melted butter, egg, and honey.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- While the cornbread is baking, mix the softened butter with honey until smooth.
- Once the cornbread is done, spread the honey butter on top.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
