- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup uncooked white rice
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 can (10.75 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion over medium heat. Drain off any excess grease.
- Stir in the uncooked rice, beef broth, and condensed cream of mushroom soup. Season with salt and pepper.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Pour the mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil, sprinkle with cheddar cheese, and bake for another 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let stand for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, you can add a teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce when browning the beef.
- Feel free to add other vegetables like peas or corn for extra nutrition.
- Top with fresh parsley before serving for a touch of color.
