Description

A simple and hearty ground beef and rice casserole. This easy dish is perfect for a weeknight family dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup uncooked white rice
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 can (10.75 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion over medium heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. Stir in the uncooked rice, beef broth, and condensed cream of mushroom soup. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
  5. Pour the mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil, sprinkle with cheddar cheese, and bake for another 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Let stand for a few minutes before serving.
