Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium head of cabbage, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil


Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up, until browned. Drain any excess grease.
  3. Add onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
  4. Stir in cabbage, diced tomatoes, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  5. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 20-25 minutes, or until cabbage is tender.
  6. Serve hot.
