Description

Delicious and easy garlic butter bread rolls perfect for any meal.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 cup warm water (105-115°F)
  • 1 1/2 cups milk, warmed
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley


Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let stand for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large bowl, combine warmed milk, melted butter, and salt. Stir in the yeast mixture.
  3. Gradually add flour, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  4. Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down dough and divide into 12-16 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a roll.
  7. Place rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  9. In a small bowl, mix softened butter with minced garlic and chopped parsley.
  10. Brush the tops of the rolls generously with the garlic butter mixture.
  11. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  12. Serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the garlic butter.
  • These rolls can be made ahead and reheated.
