Description
A festive and easy-to-make roll-up dessert with a sweet cranberry filling, perfect for Christmas gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1/2 cup fresh or frozen cranberries, chopped
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small saucepan, combine chopped cranberries, granulated sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the cranberries soften and the mixture thickens, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
- Spread a thin layer of the cranberry mixture onto each triangle, leaving a small border.
- Roll up the dough tightly, starting from the wider end.
- Place the roll-ups on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush the tops with melted butter.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Let cool completely. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- For a smoother filling, you can pulse the cranberries in a food processor before cooking.
- Add a pinch of orange zest to the cranberry mixture for extra flavor.
- These can be made ahead and reheated gently before serving.
