This recipe offers a simple teriyaki chicken made effortlessly in a slow cooker, perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • Cooked rice, for serving
  • Sesame seeds and sliced green onions, for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Place chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, garlic, and ginger.
  3. Pour the sauce over the chicken.
  4. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, or until chicken is cooked through.
  5. Shred the chicken with two forks.
  6. Serve over rice and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.

Notes

  • For thicker sauce, you can whisk in a cornstarch slurry (1 tbsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp cold water) during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
