Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 8×8 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, melted butter, and egg.
  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For a sweeter cornbread, add a bit more sugar.
