- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 jar (24 ounces) marinara sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, toss the chicken pieces with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
- Pour marinara sauce over the chicken. Stir to combine.
- In a separate bowl, mix breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese.
- Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the chicken and sauce.
- Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the topping is golden brown.
- Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- You can add your favorite herbs like basil or oregano to the breadcrumb mixture for extra flavor.
- For a spicier casserole, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the marinara sauce.
