Description

A simple and delicious chicken parmesan casserole with a cheesy and crispy topping.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 jar (24 ounces) marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss the chicken pieces with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Pour marinara sauce over the chicken. Stir to combine.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese.
  6. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the chicken and sauce.
  7. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the topping is golden brown.
  9. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
