Description
A simple and delicious chicken cordon bleu casserole without frying. This dish combines tender chicken, ham, and Swiss cheese in a creamy sauce, baked to perfection.

- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
- 1 cup diced ham
- 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, melt 1/2 cup butter over medium heat.
- Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth.
- Bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
- Stir in the shredded chicken, diced ham, Swiss cheese, parsley, pepper, and salt until the cheese is melted and the mixture is well combined.
- Pour the chicken mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a small bowl, combine the bread crumbs and 2 tablespoons of melted butter.
- Sprinkle the buttered bread crumbs evenly over the chicken mixture.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
- Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, you can use heavy cream instead of milk.
- Add cooked broccoli florets to the casserole for extra vegetables.
- Top with extra Swiss cheese before baking if desired.
