- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup uncooked rice
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Optional toppings: sour cream, green onions
Instructions
- Brown ground beef in a skillet. Drain any grease.
- Add onion and garlic. Cook until softened.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Stir in rice, beef broth, and water.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer. Cover for 20 minutes, or until rice is cooked.
- Stir in cheese until melted.
- Serve with your favorite toppings.

- You can substitute ground turkey for beef.
