Description

A hearty and flavorful cabbage roll soup made with ground beef and simple ingredients. This soup is perfect for a comforting meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 6 cups beef broth
  • 1 head cabbage, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried dill


Instructions

  1. In a large pot or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot. Cook until the onion is softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the crushed tomatoes and beef broth. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  4. Add the shredded cabbage, salt, pepper, and dill. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for at least 30 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender.
  5. Serve hot.

Notes

  • For a spicier soup, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
  • You can substitute ground turkey or pork for the ground beef.
