- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 6 cups beef broth
- 1 head cabbage, shredded
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried dill
Instructions
- In a large pot or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain off any excess grease.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot. Cook until the onion is softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes and beef broth. Bring the mixture to a boil.
- Add the shredded cabbage, salt, pepper, and dill. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for at least 30 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- For a spicier soup, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
- You can substitute ground turkey or pork for the ground beef.
