Description

Extra buttery and crumbly butter cookies, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt


Instructions

  1. Cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Beat in the vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Flatten each ball slightly with the bottom of a glass.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For extra crumbly cookies, do not overmix the dough.
  • You can add chopped pecans or chocolate chips to the dough for variation.
