- 1 loaf of challah bread, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 8 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- 2 cups fresh blueberries
- Butter for greasing the dish
- Optional toppings: powdered sugar, maple syrup, whipped cream
Instructions
- Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter.
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
- Add the bread cubes to the egg mixture and toss gently to coat.
- Gently fold in the blueberries.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake, covered, for 30 minutes.
- Uncover and bake for an additional 20-30 minutes, or until the casserole is golden brown and set.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
- Serve with your favorite toppings.
