Ingredients
Scale
- 2 (14.5 ounce) cans cut green beans, drained
- 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/3 cups french fried onions, divided
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- In a 1.5-quart baking dish, combine drained green beans, condensed cream of mushroom soup, milk, black pepper, garlic powder, and salt. Stir well.
- Bake for 20 minutes.
- Stir in 2/3 cup of the french fried onions.
- Top with the remaining 2/3 cup french fried onions.
- Bake for an additional 5 to 10 minutes, or until bubbly and the onions are golden brown.
Notes
- For an extra creamy casserole, you can add a splash of heavy cream instead of milk.
- If you prefer a green bean casserole without mushrooms, use condensed cream of celery soup or condensed cream of chicken soup.
- Freshly fried onions can be used for a more homemade taste, but canned fried onions are a convenient shortcut.
