Delicious cinnamon rolls with creamy frosting.
Ingredients

- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 egg
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- Cream Cheese Frosting:
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine yeast, warm milk, and sugar. Let stand for 5 minutes.
- Add salt, melted butter, and egg. Mix well.
- Gradually add flour, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5 minutes.
- Roll dough into a rectangle.
- Spread softened butter over dough.
- Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll up tightly.
- Cut into rolls and place in a baking dish.
- Let rise for 30 minutes.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes.
- Make cream cheese frosting by mixing all ingredients.
- Frost rolls while warm.
Notes
- You can add raisins or nuts to the filling.
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg to the dough.
- Make sure your milk isn’t too hot, or it will kill the yeast.
