Description
A classic Italian dessert with coffee-soaked ladyfingers and a creamy mascarpone filling.
Ingredients

- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup mascarpone cheese
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups strong brewed coffee, cooled
- 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur (optional)
- 24 ladyfingers
- Unsweetened cocoa powder, for dusting
Instructions
- In a large bowl, beat heavy cream until soft peaks form.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together mascarpone cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture.
- In a shallow dish, combine cooled coffee and coffee liqueur (if using).
- Quickly dip ladyfingers into the coffee mixture, soaking for a few seconds.
- Arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers in a dish.
- Spread half of the mascarpone cream over the ladyfingers.
- Repeat layers: soaked ladyfingers, then remaining cream.
- Dust the top with cocoa powder.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.
- Serve chilled.
Notes
- For a non-alcoholic version, omit the coffee liqueur.
- Use high-quality mascarpone cheese for best results.
- Do not over-soak the ladyfingers.
- Dust with cocoa powder just before serving.
