Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur (optional)
  • 24 ladyfingers
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder, for dusting


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, beat heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together mascarpone cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture.
  4. In a shallow dish, combine cooled coffee and coffee liqueur (if using).
  5. Quickly dip ladyfingers into the coffee mixture, soaking for a few seconds.
  6. Arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers in a dish.
  7. Spread half of the mascarpone cream over the ladyfingers.
  8. Repeat layers: soaked ladyfingers, then remaining cream.
  9. Dust the top with cocoa powder.
  10. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.
  11. Serve chilled.

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, omit the coffee liqueur.
  • Use high-quality mascarpone cheese for best results.
  • Do not over-soak the ladyfingers.
  • Dust with cocoa powder just before serving.
