Description

Delicious apple pie bars perfect for a cozy winter night.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 6 cups apples, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Make the crust: Combine flour, butter, sugar, and salt. Cut until crumbly.
  3. Press half of the crust into a baking dish.
  4. Mix apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
  5. Spread apple mixture over the crust.
  6. Crumble remaining crust over the apples.
  7. Bake for 40-45 minutes.
  8. Let cool completely before cutting.
