Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 6 cups apples, peeled and diced
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Make the crust: Combine flour, butter, sugar, and salt. Cut until crumbly.
- Press half of the crust into a baking dish.
- Mix apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
- Spread apple mixture over the crust.
- Crumble remaining crust over the apples.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes.
- Let cool completely before cutting.

- Use a mix of apple varieties.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
