Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (2 sticks) cold unsalted butter, cubed
- 6 cups peeled and diced apples
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, combine flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
- Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Press half of the crumb mixture into a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a separate bowl, combine apples, granulated sugar, and lemon juice.
- Spread apple mixture over the crumb crust.
- Sprinkle remaining crumb mixture over the apples.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Let cool completely before cutting and serving.
Notes
- For best results, use firm apples like Honeycrisp or Granny Smith.
- You can add a sprinkle of chopped nuts to the crumble topping.
- Store bars in an airtight container at room temperature.
